Free Florida NEMT planning tool

Florida NEMT Unit Economics Calculator

Run a quick diagnostic of trip contribution, deadhead and rough break-even volume using your own NEMT assumptions.

Your rate belongs here—not ours.

LaunchOps does not publish a universal assumed broker reimbursement rate. Provider economics can depend on the payer or network agreement, service type, mileage, geography and contract terms. Enter your own actual, quoted, negotiated or planning figures.

How this quick diagnostic works

Total miles
Loaded miles + deadhead miles
Fuel cost
Total miles ÷ MPG × fuel price
Driver cost
Driver hours × hourly driver cost
Contribution
Expected trip revenue − fuel, maintenance and driver costs
Rough monthly result
Monthly contribution − insurance − one combined fixed-cost estimate
Rough break-even trips
Combined monthly fixed costs ÷ positive contribution per trip

Before relying on the output

Verify the assumptions that control the result

This calculator is a planning tool, not a quote, reimbursement schedule, contract offer or guarantee of revenue or profitability.

Actual results depend on written payer or network terms, service mix, trip volume, mileage, deadhead, wait time, no-shows, insurance, driver costs, vehicle costs and local operating conditions.

Start with the Florida reimbursement research, then verify startup costs, insurance requirements, payer and vendor pathways, and county and license layers. Use the 15-point pre-launch checklist before committing capital.

Questions this NEMT calculator helps you test

How much does an NEMT trip need to earn?

At minimum, expected revenue must cover the basic variable costs entered here. A launch decision also requires a complete startup budget, working-capital plan and costs not modeled by this quick check.

How do deadhead miles affect NEMT economics?

Deadhead adds fuel and maintenance expense without creating trip revenue. It can also consume driver time when your trip-time assumption includes repositioning.

How many NEMT trips do I need to break even?

This page produces a rough estimate from insurance and one combined fixed-cost input. The complete launch model should use a detailed cost budget and cash-timing assumptions.

What costs are intentionally omitted?

This quick check does not calculate startup cash, payment lag, working capital, cash runway, financing, vehicle acquisition or detailed overhead categories.
